Golden Opportunity Bus Tour
Golden Opportunity, a program with Ochsner, came to the Pearl River Museum on Friday, June 13, 2014.
A group of 52 senior men and women from the famous Golden Opportunity Club sponsored a bus tour to the Northshore. Their first stop was The Pearl River Museum, arriving on a large chartered tour bus.
The Golden Opportunity Club is a popular program of Ochsner Health Systems of New Orleans. The group was a happy, enjoyable group and enjoyed the museum immensely, as well as the volunteers enjoying the group. Their stay was short, as they traveled on to a local winery and The Fish House in Bush. They told us about their many travels, one of which was a trip to Alaska last year, along with many other interesting places.
Many thanks to museum volunteers: Bob & Jewell Moore, Stella Kemp, Dorothy Singletary, Matalyn Stark, Heather Benton and Ruby Gauley.

Egg Painting Event
On Saturday, March 29, 2014 the St. Tammany Porcelain Art Club came to the Museum and hosted an Egg Painting Event for our members. The Art Club members taught museum members how to paint a porcelain egg in a marble style. The Art Club furnished all of the supplies for the event. There was no cost to the museum members, and the eggs are for them to keep. The art club took the eggs to fire and will be returning them to the museum for members to pick up at their convenience. Please visit us on Facebook for more photos and information.
